Scenes I wish I’d never witnessed
Feelings I shouldn’t feel
Thoughts I shouldn’t think
Things I shouldn’t have done yesterday
Things I should have done last year
Prayers I should have put more faith into
Dreams I should be giving over to God
Wisdom I wish I had—oh, to be like Solomon!
Patience I should cultivate
Mercy I should show
Money I should be giving away
Gentleness which should infuse my every deed
Faith I should be displaying
Love I should feel for all people at all times
Lord, let me out of this hell
and keep me out of the other one.
